It's My Bday and I'll Wear What I Want To

I am loving this FP Medallion dress that was gifted to me by my bf for my bday. I dropped a couple of hints about it and am glad he got it.
This dress runs teeny tiny. When I saw how slim it was, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to fit into this. Thankfully the material is very stretchy and expands to conform to the body. I am wearing a size XS/S. If you are a size or two smaller than me, you will still fit into this dress. If you're a size bigger than me I definitely recommend sizing up.

We celebrated my bday at Cha Cha Cha which is one of my favorite restaurant in SF. They have the most delicious Cuban food and sangria.
I had the most awesome time eating, laughing and catching up with my friends. They made my bday a very happy one!

AT - 60% off Sale Items

I picked up these Ann Taylor Perfect Exotic Pumps (size 5) for only $56 after the 60% discount. Original price was $178. What an amazing deal! I have always heard so many good things about the Perfect Pumps from Jean of Extrapetite.com. I been wanting to try them but, never wanted to pay full price. I live in the city and wear out my shoes really quickly so I hate investing more than $100 on shoes unless they are really different and unique.
I think this deal ends after today. What a score. Woohoo!

Size Up Please

The other day, I was in H&M's fitting room trying on some stuff. I couldn't help but overhear a conversation between a daughter and a mom. Here's how the conversation went:
Mom: I think you need to go up a size in those pants.
Daughter: No! I'm a size 4.
Mom: Well, lets give the 6 a try anyways.
Daughter: Why? Are you calling me fat?!?

At this point I couldn't help but step out of my fitting room to see if the mom was really right or just being uptight. After seeing the daughter in those pants, I was thinking to myself girl you need to listen to your mom because I can see panty lines and your muffin top.
What made me think of that story at H&M are these white jeggings I'm wearing. I remember buying them a couple of years ago at FP. I tried on the size 24 (my normal size) and thought to myself, damn these are hella tight even though I can fit into them. I really liked these jeggings and decided to try on the size 25. It felt and looked much better and since white pants are so unforgiving, I thought it would only be smart to size up. I think a lot of people are stuck on the number. What they don't realize is that it's okay to stray from your normal size. Every brand and retailer have their own sizing/fit so you're not going to be the same size across the board.
Outfit Details:
AT Petite Wrap Front Silk Print Top. Size 00P. AT's current promo is 40% off sale items and this blouse is a sale item! No code needed.
I actually really like the material, the wrap front and the print of the shirt. The fit is tiny bit wide and could be a tad slimmer. That part doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me more is the hook & eye closures on the side and on the wrap front of the shirt (to keep the shirt from opening). Because the shirt is loose all over, it allows the eyes & hook closures to become undone very easily. The hook & eye closures are also very small and it's so time consuming to hook them all up and then to have to do it again when they get unhooked. Pain in the butt! Because of the construction flaw, I decided to return the top.

Tinley Road Raglan Lace Detail Top

Happy Saturday everyone! The weather in SF is beautiful today. Sunny and in the 60s!
I am wearing my new Tinley Road Raglan Lace Detail Top today! Despite the fit issues, I still think it's quite adorable and for $14 I can't complain too much. Maybe I'll take it to alterations and see how much it will cost to slim the sides.

Black and White Loves

I hinted to my bf about FP Medallion dress for my b-day present(it's the b&w body-conscious slip dress with crochet). Haha! Keeping my fingers crossed!
I'm waiting for the FP Zinke Lace Crop Bralette to go on sale! I want to pair that with the F21 Polka Dot Midi Skirt. That's a cute outfit for a hot summer day. Yes, I'm already thinking about the beach and summer. Can't wait for 80 degree weather to come. Okay, maybe 75 because 80 degrees is a rarity in SF.
I also really like that ASOS PETITE Dress In Yokopop Print. It's super fitted and sexy without showing skin. I think on me it might hit mid-calf which I don't mind. It would be a great date night dress with a bf blazer over it.

Four Inches Shorter

I was looking through the last few post and realized my hair was getting super long and unruly. I thought to myself, it is definitely time to cut my hair. I seriously had so many split ends from getting my hair ombre. It feels nice to get 4" chopped off. I feel much lighter!

This is an outfit I wore to a dinner with a couple of long time friends.
I ran into good friend from elementary school that I haven't seen in over 18 years! I can't believe I recognized her. Me, her and another gal ended up going to dinner and catching up. Definitely felt like old times!

Piperlime --Tinley Road

I never heard of the brand Tinley Road before. I discovered it while browsing Pimperlime's sale section. All the pieces are super reasonably prices, trendy without being over the top and versatile enough to incorporate into work and weekend wear.

Sales Items -- I'm on the verge of pulling out my credit card and ordering. There are small sizes left too! I'm just hesitant because these are final sale items and I have never tried this brand before.
1. Tinley Road Ladylike Faux Fur Jacket. Sale price $34. I have been looking for a cute animal print faux fur jacket, but didn't want to spend too much money on it either. This is exactly what I'm looking for -- cute and easy on the wallet!
2. Tinley Road Raglan Lace Detail Top. Sale price $14. The nautical strip and lace detail is super adorable. And for $14, what a steal?!

Wishlisted Items
3. Tinley Road Peter Pan Collar Blouse. Obsessed with the double Peter Pan collar and buttons on the back!
4. Tinley Road Bleecker Blazer. I like that the stripes are on the smaller size. Since I have so much solid colors in my closet, I think this could be a nice addition to throw into the mix.
5. Tinley Road Charlotte Cardigan. I'm intrigued with the ruffle detail trimming.

If anyone has tried this brand, please share your experience and your thoughts about the sizing.

ON Chambray/Jeggings Part 2 & 30% off

Hi everyone! I just wanted to do a quick post today since Old Navy, Gap & BR is having a promo (ends 19th). They're offering 30% off with code NEWYOU. I haven't used it, so definitely read the restrictions.

Read my initial review here for the Rockstar jeggings in 0R & chambray in XS regular.
I decided to reorder the jeggings in size 0S & 0P & chambray in XSP to compare.

Old Navy Dark Chambray. Size XSP. I apologize the pics aren't very good! The fit of the shoulders & sleeves are slimmer in the XSP compared to the XS regular. The length of the shirt is shorter, but torso is still wide making it very boxy looking. I'd think the petite would fit slimmer in the torso, but it really doesn't. I prefer the longer length of the XS regular for tucking into jeans/pants.

Wearing Above:
Rock Star Jeggings in Saucy Red. Size 0P.

Rock Star Jeggings in Ruby. Size 0S.
I definitely like the fit of the 0P & 0S compared to the 0R. The inseam of the smaller sizes are shorter and the overall fit is tighter so there are less bunching compared to the 0R.
What I'm SUPER confused about is that the 0S is smaller than the 0P?!?

You can see in the last picture with the jeggings laying flat that the 0P (Saucy red) is wider in the waist and hips area. Did ON mislabel? Is the 0S suppose to be a 0P and vice versa?

Ladies, what are your thoughts on this. Do you think one fits better than the other?

Long and Lean

Hi everyone! I been away for a bit due to some dental work. I'm in the process of getting my teeth straightened! I had 4 bicuspids extracted to allow more room for my overcrowded front teeth. I'd have to say that was a pretty painful process. If anyone says otherwise, they are lying. Before my extraction, I made my dentist promise me a prescription of vicodins. Boy, did those come handy! HAHA! I do have braces on (towards the back), but you can't tell unless I purposely smile really really big. I think I'm going to have to wear these braces for 4-6 months and then I switch over to invisalign. I only had my braces on for 3 days and I can't wait to get rid of them already. It's been SO painful to eat! I can't chew or bite into anything so I have been on a liquid diet. Every night before I go to bed, I think about all the yummy food I can go back to eating when my teeth feels better! HAHA!!

Wearing:
Gap 1969 Lightweight Long & Lean Jeans. Currently $29.99. Size 00R. I bought these actually a couple of month ago in store for $27. I went into the store yesterday and they were on sale for $13!! In terms of sizing, the waist is a tad big and the inseam is pretty long (33" inseam). I had it shorten about 3" and kept the original seam. I do love how comfy they are. They feel more like thick stretch pants rather than jeans. I noticed after taking pics that my pants got caught in the buckle of my sandals causing the bunching on the bottom. The jeans do drape nicer in real life. :)

Old Navy Chambray & Rock Star Jeggings

Old Navy brings back memories! I used to work for them when I was 16. It was also one of my first summer jobs. Every since leaving the company, I never went back. The sizing used to be humongous, but I guess I was also 16 at the time and have grown quite a bit since then. I remember their women clothes were too too big and I had to wear their kids stuff. Their cheesy commercials don't appeal to me either. But after seeing all my petite bloggers find some good stuff their, I decided to give it a shot myself.

I guess I'm kind of late on the chambray trend! I tried on a few prior to purchasing this one, but most were ill fitting, the wrong color or the price point was way too high.
This Old Navy Women's Chambray (in size XS) was exactly what I was looking for. I really like the style, the cut and especially the color. It was also $24 so I thought that was a great price point. The shirt definitely needs slimming on the sides and I'm planning to get it tailored.
American Eagle Ankle Jeggings. Size 00R. (similar here)
Coach Grey Suede Pumps. Size 5.5. (similar here & here)

Old Navy Rock Star Jeggings. 0R. I purchased these in store for ~$8! I don't see this particular color available online, so it must be a last season item. This is such a fun color and I don't have anything like it.
See other petite bloggers like Jean, Wendy & Jessy look fabulous in these jeggings.
Personally I think these look just okay on me. I probably wouldn't pay for price for these, but for $8 I said what the heck. I don't love the bunching around the knee and the wrinkles around the crotch area. The inseam (at 29.5") is too long for me. I'm thinking about trimming off an inch or 2 off the length which will make it look much better. A positive point is that the waist does fit nicely -- not tight or loose which is hard to come by.
