B+W Houndstooth Plaid

I love houndstooth. I love plaid and I love b&w together. I couldn't have been more excited to find this fabric because it has everything I love in one print!! I made this sheath dress last week and have worn it a few times and have gotten so many compliments. The fabric is light weight, drapes so nicely over the body and is comfortable to wear. I love that this print can be dressed up or down. You can wear it with pumps and a blazer to the office or with a moto jacket and booties for a casual look on the weekend (worn here - PS I had the pleasure of meeting Julia from Gal Meets Glam at the Alice + Olivia event). If anyone is interested, I am adding this dress to my Etsy store!

Striped Sweatshirt Dress

Omg this dress is so warm...I wore this in 60 degree weather and I had to take off my jacket! I've been wanting to make a sweatshirt (fabric) dress for the longest time since it's always a little chilly in SF, but never found any sweatshirt fabric with a pattern that I really liked until now. This dress is so comfy and cozy, it would be perfect for ladies that live in cooler climates.
 Wearing:

The Good Ole Basics

When I don't know what to wear, I turn to basics that are easy to throw on and don't require ironing. Both items are under $15.
Gap Favorite long-sleeve V-neck. XSP. Comes in a few colors and tempted to pick up the coral for spring.
Old Navy Rockstar Tuxedo - Gray. 0S. Use code Save20 for an extra 20% off. Measurements: 27.5" inseam, 26.75 waist, 7" rise, 9.5" leg opening.
I also ordered the Rockstar in Ankle-Zip Blue Ridge  (27" inseam, 26.75" waist, 7" rise, 10.5" leg opening) and French Grey (28" inseam, 27" waist, 8" rise, 9.5" leg opening).
I returned the ankle jeans because the inseam was too short to be regular length and too long to be ankle length on me. I also thought the leg opening was also too wide. I wasn't crazy about the French Grey color (too light) in person and the inseam was a tad too long.

Pointed Toes + OOTDs

Wearing:
H&M Leopard Sheath Dress. (similar here).
BR Trench. (similar here). I rarely wear this jacket because of the 3/4 sleeves. I realized I have jackets/coats with the same length sleeves and I never wear them either because my arms get cold easily. Note to self, don't buy coats that do not cover my entire arm. If I have time, I might undo the coat and sew on full length sleeves!
BP Pointed Pointy Toe Flat in  Black + in Leopard. Size 5 (sized down 1/2 size). I never wear flats, because my feet are so accustomed to heels. Every time I try on flats, they just don't feel that comfortable except for these! They are so cute and I love the pointed toes too.

Here's also a few OOTD from last week via instagram (for those who don't follow me or have IG).
BR V-Neck Peplum Sweater. XSP. | Loft Pants (similar) | F21 Earrings (similar)
F21 Jumpsuit (similar + similar in petite) | HM Jacket (similar) | F21 Necklace (similar) | Prada Havana Sunglasses (similar)
Asos Dress (similar) | Henri Bendel bracelet | MAC - Up the Amp Lipstick

It's Workout Time!

I've taken a break from working out for a few months and it's time for me to come out of hibernation! I haven't put on any lbs. from holiday eating and have remained the same weight, but I can definitely tell that the little muscles I did have turned into fat. Ewww...I know and I feel totally flabby.

Every year I buy myself one set of new workout clothes as a motivator to start going to the gym again. Two years ago, I went colorful and bought Zobha leggings, bra and tanks. They are currently having a sale, so it's a good time to pick up a few items if you're interested in trying their yoga clothes. When I made my purchase their smallest size was a 2 (for pants), but now they are carrying size 00. I haven't tried their 00 so I can't really say how their new sizes compare. What I do love about the brand is that they carry a variety of colors in their leggings. The con about about wearing light color pants (I have the light purple-ish color) is that your sweat will show through. I’m a total sweater and would say I sweat more than most men, so the light color pants didn’t work for me even though I do love the look.

Last year, I decided to try Lululemon Wunder under pants and their padded sports bra and tanks. From what I can remember, they didn't have that many color selection so ended up getting the black Wunder unders. What's great about Lululemon is that they will shorten the length of the pants to fit your inseam at no cost (done at store and I believe the pants have to be regular price). What I didn't like about their tops was that the material felt like swimming suit fabric, but they did offer nice support and padding (for no show through headlights).

This year, I'm interested in trying a new brand called Sweaty Betty (how cute is their name!?). They have super cute yoga pants, yoga clothes and sports bras! Their sizing seem to run small according to their chart, but I haven't tried their stuff in person since they only have boutiques in New York. If anyone is familiar with this brand, I'd would love to hear your thoughts on their quality and sizing.
