Kate Spade Mini Brantley Satchel

Valentine's Day was so lovely and I hope you ladies shared it with someone special! I spent the day with my bf brunching, shopping and checking off a couple items off my spring wishlist! My bf gifted me the Jo Malone fragrance in nectarine honey blossom and flowers for V-day which was a nice surprise. He said I almost got you the wrong fragrance, but good thing I checked your wishlist. LOL!

I've also been looking for a small black satchel that can act as a crossbody and originally wanted the Kate Spade Cedar Street Satchel. I't s a great bag and I do love it, but realized that the top handles do not collapse when I tried it on. It's one of my pet peeves because when I'm carrying it as a crossbody, I don't want the top handles to be sticking up.
I did find the Kate Spade Mini Brantley as a great alternative and it has the following features that I was looking for:

  • acts as a satchel and crossbody
  • big enough to fit my little LV Pochette (which acts as my wallet and makeup bag and makes changing purses really quick and easy), but isn't too big that it overwhelms my frame
  • has collapsible top handles
  • adjustable shoulder straps (made of leather and not a chain)
  • zipper closure so items don't fall out of my bag

  • I rarely buy handbags just because I'm really picky and one of those items that take me forever to really pull the trigger on (unlike shoes and clothes). Therefore I don't really have that many purses in my wardrobe and am so excited for this new addition. I also really love how soft the leather is and that the gold hardware isn't too big or flashy. I wanted something really versatile that will pair great with all my outfits and thought this Kate Spade Mini Brantley had all the requirements I was looking for.

    Spring Wishlist!

We had a huge rain storm over the weekend, but the weather should be beautiful this week. I'm really excited for spring to come and ditch all my heavy sweaters and coats. I want pretty colors to spruce up my wardrobe and have been thinking about light layers and flowy items the last couple of shopping trips.

    1. Anthropologie Verda Maxi . Comes in Petite Size. I love the pretty colors, easy silhouette and the scarf print. I see this dress paired with my denim jacket and wedge sandals for a romantic and fun spring look.
    2. Pleione blouse. This blouse comes in many colors and also petite size. I've been loving longer tops with skinny jeans or leggings and ankle boots. That's my jam!
    3. Sam Edelman Utility Jacket. I already have a utility jacket from Free People, but like this one more because of the lighter color. I like the easy fit and the longer length to pair with blouses and casual dresses.
    4. Sam Edelman Riding Boot. Comes in really small sizes! I tried these on over the weekend and I really like them. They are currently on sale, so the price is super reasonable for soft leather! I need to go back and try them on again just to see what they look like with a dress. The only downside is that the calf area fits wide.
    5. Geo Print scarf. Loving the splash of color to pair with solid tops!
    6. Kate Spade Cedar Street Satchel. I've been looking for a satchel that I can wear as a cross-body and this one fits the bill! I'm undecided about the color though.
    7. Plaid Shirt. I'm imaging this shirt with skinny jeans and the riding boots!
    8. Ann Taylor Trench Cape (comes in XXS!). Kind of pricy, but Ann Taylor always has good sales so I'm definitely waiting on this.
    9. Sanctuary Remix Sweater. Spring is still chilly in SF so I thought light weight sweaters are definitely a must, but in pretty colors! I love the mixed media and the girly color combo.
    10. J Crew Slim Bf jeans. I have been trying on different bf jeans and most are a tad big! I was at J Crew over the weekend and tried their toothpick denim in size 24 and they fit pretty well.
    11. SK II Facial Treatment Water. My skin has been kind of dull and dry from the winter. I have changed up my skin care routine and have been using Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Day Emulsion and the eye cream! Both products have been really wonderful and makes my skin really nicely hydrated. I feel like I could use something more though and have been really wanting to try the SK II treatment water. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because it's so freaking expensive.
    12. Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick. I love these shimmer bricks! I have the regular version and they give your skin such a nice glow and have been wanting to try the new brightening brick.
    13. Jo Malone Nectarine Honey Blossom Fragrance. This my go to fragrance for spring! Need to replenish pronto!

    City Chic with Leopard Spots

When I showed these pants to my bf, his initial reaction was like where are you going to wear those pants? He definitely wasn't a fan, as they were different from my usual solid color pants or jeans. I wore this outfit to go shopping last weekend and got tons of compliments from random strangers. As other people affirmed my decision, I think he is finally on board and was like...okay they're not so bad...I like them now. Ohhhh boys....

Classic Wrap With Louise et Cie 'Ranier' Leather Bootie

I love a good classic wrap dress because of the comfort and flattering fit. They're more on the business casual side and since I've been more casual in my attire as of late, I wanted to dress it down and add a little edge to this piece with these black booties. These ankle boots are by Louise et Cie from Nordstrom and they are super versatile and looks great with jeans or dresses. I love the buckles and the hint of gold hardware which make it more glam and girly. I'm wearing a size 5.5 and would say they run pretty true to size. The heel is about 2.75" which is pretty low and are really comfortable to walk around in. They do run a little narrow so if you're between sizes, I'd recommend sizing up. I have also accumulated a number of ankle booties over the last few years and have to say I prefer to wear them over other shoes. Do share your favorite ankle boots as I'm always in the market to add more to my wardrobe!

    Back in Action!

Hi blog friends, readers and everyone new to my blog! I was trying to break my cycle of going MIA, but relapsed for awhile...however I am back! I don't want to say "for good" because old habits are hard to break. Heehee! I've done a lot of shopping lately so I have quite a number of OOTD for you guys. Since I don't really have to dress up anymore, I've been shopping a lot in the junior department (Nordstrom, Macy's and Target) since the items fit smaller and the styles are more casual and trendier.

I don't have many mustard colored items, but have been loving it since my last H&M scarf purchase. I really like this Stitch Fix blouse's twist front neckline that gives the illusion of a longer torso without showing too much skin. The fit is on the relaxed and looser side, so if you're smaller than me I probably wouldn't recommend this top as it might swallow you up. I also recently discovered Articles of Society Jeans in BP department at Nordstrom. Their denim runs about $50 which I think is pretty reasonable. These jeans don't have stretch to them which is nice for a change, since jeans that have too much spandex can sometimes feel like leggings. They do bag out after a couple of wears, but I threw them in the washer and dryer and they shrank back up pretty nicely. I'm wearing a size 24 and would say that they run pretty true to size, but a little long on the length for me. I really like this brand and am thinking about picking up the lighter wash and white color since spring is just around the corner.
