Burberry Quilted Jacket

I was at Nordstrom a few days ago and was checking out their anniversary sale items. I was there for a bit and ended up having a few drinks. Nothing really caught my eye so I decided to leave. As I was leaving, I walked through the kids department and a blazer caught my eyes. I decided to try it on, but it wasn't a good fit. A SA walked up to me and told me they have a kid's Burberry quilted jacket I might like and wanted to show it to me. I said okay fine, let's see it.
I tried it on and thought it was a decent fit. After a few drinks, my head was definitely not thinking straight. The SA and my bf convinced me how cute this jacket was. Somehow, someway, I ended up purchasing the jacket. *sigh*
Yes, I give into peer pressure easily.
Well I have mixed feelings about this jacket. It's kind of cute and is also kind of soccer mom-ish. I remember during college, I was out with a few friends at a night club. We were hanging out in the patio and I was getting cold. One of my friends offered her Burberry quilted jacket to me and I was thinking to myself, why are you wearing this. Hahaha!
I know a lot of people own similar Burberry quilted jackets and it looks great on them. I just don't think it's for me, therefore I will be returning.
Ladies, what are your thoughts about this quilted jacket?

  1. I say return. Reminds me of a jacket I had from 10 plus years ago. The shoulders also look too small or kiddish.

  2. If you were a kid, I'd say keep it. If you were a mom, I'd say keep it. But you are you a young lady and should dress like one! I say return, sorry!! You'd look 10,000 times better in something else! Promise!! http://katejones.me/

  5. RETURN! I think it looks too boxy and out of style. I'd rather buy a classic Burberry trench that fits well.

  6. I love how these sleeves looked cuffed. I think the quilted look is pretty, but does not match your style...or what I see as your style. The fit of the back looks too big in that last pic. I would say return.

And lol about drinking and shopping! :)

  7. I agree with your decision to return it. It looks a little too short and boxy!

  8. The jacket is definitely a return. It the jacket was more fitted then I would say you should keep it but it too boxy.

  9. I think it looks cute unbuttoned, but too poofy buttoned up. I agree that it doesn't seem like your style. LOL about soccer moms!

  10. Hm, I don't quite think the fit is perfect. I like Burberry quilted jackets in general, have seen them on a few people and they look fab (when the tailoring is good). I definitely think it was a smart decision for you to return it. You should always go with your but and wear what makes you feel best. :)

    1. Wow, I meant go with your GUT. But going with your butt isn't too bad either, I guess? Whatever floats your boat. :D

  11. Thank you for this post. I have been thinking about buying this for a long time but this post definitely made me think I should try it on before I make the purchase. Thanks! =)

  12. I think it looks great on you! Classy and seems comfortable. It's a good Spring jacket. How tall are you and what are your measurements? I'm thinking about purchasing this in girls size :)

  13. I say return too because there are more fitted options for petites. The arms are a bit loose and not much shape in the waist area. I'm petite too. 5'2, 95lbs, 30,23,33. I recently tried a quilted jacket in express and it's shockingly fitting and slims our petite silhouette. Check it out. Here is my link, I will review this jacket soon! and if you are looking for a fitted trench by any chance, try the BR flare trench!
