I LOVE MY: Banana Republic Coat & Free People Ruffle Tweed Jacket

Wearing:
Banana Republic Coat. XSP. I got this coat a few years ago and it's one of my favorite coats of all time. The coat is thick enough to keep me warm and it's nicely lined inside. I also like the length -- it's not too long or short.

BR has gone down hill for me ever since this...what happened BR?

I saw a replica at JCrew store and it is also available online.
JCrew Petite double-cloth Colletta coat. Comes in many color, the quality looks pretty decent & available in petite sizes.

BCBG Sweater Dress. XS. (similar here, here & here)

Wearing:
Free People Ruffle Tweed Jacket. Size 0. Available in 2 other colors. I love the shape of this jacket. I'm usually not a fan of tweed, but this totally won me over.
Bebe Jeggings. Size 24.
Coach Finley KidSuede Pump. See this post for details.

  1. My goodness, I love both your outfits! That red dress is gorgeous and you look so incredibly slim in it! I'm surprised the BR coat fits so well, because I've tried their black petite trench before and the fit was still baggy overall. And I love the look of tweed items, but have realized that I don't like them so much up close... but they look so nice from far away lol.

  2. I love both outfits too, especially that FP tweed jacket. I am becoming a tweed convert...and I am actually actively looking for tweed items appropriate for work but haven't had much luck. I agree with PetiteXXS that tweed looks much better from afar...unrelated, but you have the tiniest waist ever. :)

  4. I like the shape of the FP jacket too! I know what you mean about tweed.. I think it's b/c it's usu boxy old lady jackets that come in tweed. Love the big collar on it! I bought one recently that has a collar just like the Mackage "Vickie" jacket in your shopstyle ads :)

  5. Really great sweater dress and absolutely LOVE the FP jacket, it's so feminine and different. I'm a fan of tweed but agree it can be hard to pull off - I don't have any pieces yet - it can sometimes be too overwhelming.

  7. Ladies-- I totally agree with everyone on your thoughts about tweed. I think FP does a great job making things look current and age appropriate for me! Thanks for all your comments :)

  8. Tweed? oversized round sunglasses? Well hello Jackie O (Ping style)!! The proportion of this tweed jacket is so fem & cutesy w/the flare. the sleeves look tiny and the arm length is perfect on you. This is a great find.

Gosh, I wish BR stuff still fits like this jacket fits on you.

  9. I'm surprised the BR coat looks fitting on your petite frame. I love BR but it costs a lot here in my country. They're still churning out pretty ecnt designs here. Love your BCBG sweater dress. Fits u like a glove! U really have the knack of finding clothes that fit you so well. Nobody would have guessed you are petite. ;)

  12. Aubrey--lol! Thanks! Free People seems to fit me best even though they don't offer petite sizes!

Jo-- It's been a long while since I have gotten anything from BR. I think that jacket might have been the very last few items. Not sure what happened to their small sizes.

    TinyinTexas/Callandra-- thanks girlies!

  15. Ping - I freakin love this post!! Agree with aubrey, the second look is so Jackie O, fun and classy.

I love all the pieces showcased here and read it probably 3 times over this morning on the subway lol : ) BR must've been running small a few years back. You would be swimming in that size of theirs now!
